The Sri Lanka Buddhist Monastery has established a Tsunami Relief Appeal to assist in the humanitarian and relief efforts in Sri Lanka. The funds received from this appeal will be used to provide much needed supplies such as food, water, clothing and medicines to the devastated areas on an immediate basis. The funds will also be used later towards the rebuilding and rehabilitation process for people who have been displaced by the disaster. The current estimate of the total number of displaced people in Sri Lanka is more than one million. We have volunteers on the ground in the affected areas in Sri Lanka providing emergency relief. All donations that are received will be used directly for the benefit of the survivors. The Monastery and its parent monastery in Sri Lanka will bear the administrative and operational costs associated with our relief effort. We are now urgently appealing to the public for donations towards the relief efforts. We urge you to dig deep and to donate in any way that you can towards the appeal. You can make your donation by contacting the Monastery’s Tsunami Relief Appeal Donation Line on 1800 254 266 (Toll Free). We are extremely grateful to the public for their support of this relief appeal. |
